How Do You Get a Marriage Green Card and an Immigration Lawyer Cape Cod?

Obtaining a marriage green card usually involves an attorney helping the process run smoothly.  It is a three-step process, with other subsets within the major three steps.  Other documentation is also required so that accountability and the validity of the marriage are evident.

What Steps and Documentation are needed?

Step One- To begin the process, fill out and submit Form I-130, also known as the “Petition for Alien Relative” to the Department of Homeland Security.  This form is a statement that the marriage is valid.  Other information and materials may be necessary to prove its validity.

Step Two- If your spouse physically lives in the U.S., the form to file is Form I-485, also known as the “Adjustment of Status” application to the USCIS.  This is done to establish green card eligibility.

Step Three- The final step in the process is attending the green card interview for approval.  It is another assessment of the marriage’s validity.  The interviewer will ask personal questions to approve or deny the marriage green car
